Why does Staywired need to collect information on its users?
Staywired offers a free service to its members. Revenues for staywired, are generated by the sale of advertising and other miscellaneous information.
What information does the Staywired collect, how is it collected and how is it used?
Data is gathered in two ways: automatic and via your input. Staywired web servers automatically recognize the domain name, IP address, and Web browser for each visitor to our log-in page. We use the IP address to help diagnose potential problems with our server, and to administer our Web site. We also track information on customer visit frequency to areas within the Staywired service. In conjunction with customer feedback, we track which features our customers value most. Our site's registration form requires users to give us contact information (like their name and email address), and demographic information (like their zip code). The member's contact information is used to contact the visitor when necessary. We also use customer contact information from the registration form to send the user promotional material from some of our advertising partners. This requires the user "select this option" to receive these offers.
Does Staywired use "cookies"?
Yes, Staywired uses "cookies" to store information in order to save users from having to re-enter data with each visit. Cookies help us determine usage of various features.
